‘2 injured in Lebanon bomb attack’
The bomb was believed to have been planted underneath a car belonging to a member of the Lebanese resistance movement of Hezbollah.
Hezbollah security forces were immediately dispatched to the site of the blast along with army units.
The Lebanese army also cordoned off the area and started an investigation into the blast.
In December 2012, a car bomb attack in the capital claimed the life of the intelligence chief of Lebanon’s Internal Security Forces, General Wissam al-Hassan.
A massive explosion also rocked the town of Tair Harfa in southern Lebanon close to Lebanon’s border with the Occupied Palestinian Territories in December last year.
