Israeli troops attack Palestinians in East al-Quds
Scores of Palestinians gathered in the Issawiya neighborhood of East Al-Quds following the Friday Prayers to protest against the recent killing of two Palestinian teenagers by Israeli forces in the West Bank.
They also expressed their anger about the death of a Palestinian prisoner who died in an Israeli jail.
A similar protest was also held in the West Bank city of al-Khalil (Hebron), where Israeli soldiers fired tear gas and rubber bullets to disperse the demonstrators.
Maysara Abu Hamdiah, 64, died of cancer in Israeli custody on April 2. His death has sparked outrage among Palestinians who accuse Israel of denying him treatment.
Palestinians have held several anti-Israeli demonstrations in the West Bank, al-Quds and Gaza since Abu Hamdiah’s death.
Two Palestinian teenagers, identified as Naji Balbisi and his cousin, Amer Nassar, were killed on Wednesday after Israeli troops opened fire on Palestinian protesters in Tulkarem, in the northern West Bank.
