MWM condemns attack on azadari procession and congregations
Majlis-e-Wahdat-e-Muslimeen Karachi chapter has condemned the attacks on azadari procession and congregations in Karachi and other parts of the country during Moharram.
Hassan Hashmi, Secretary General of the MWM Karachi, said in a statement on Monday that fanatics and terrorists of outlawed Yazidi terrorist group fired upon and pelted with stones an azadari procession that Shia Muslims of Khuda Ki Basti (Surjani Town) brought out. Two Shiites were injured in the attack. They were taken to hospital for treatment.
He also condemned the attacks on azadari Majlis in Darho Thatta, assassination of three Shiites in Gujranwala, forcing closure of Imam Bargah in Jhal Magsi and torching of Islamic banner in Jhang.
“The terrorists and the influential bigwigs behind all these acts of terrorism should be named in the cases to be registered forthwith. The judiciary must award them due punishment so that the terrorists and fanatics could fear the consequences of their immoral, un-Islamic and illegal actions,” he said.
