KARACHI: A notable Shia Muslim Syed Wajahat Hussain Naqvi has been assassinated near Nipa Chowrangi area on Thursday late night, The Shia Post reported.

He was on way, the pro-Taliban terrorists attacked on his vechle with a cracker blast at University road near Nipa Chowrangi area of Karachi.

Hussain was close aide of Allama Talib Johri, the renowned Shia scholar in Pakistan. He was leader of Anjuman Makhdoma-e-Konain.

Martyr Wajahat Hussain was a bank manager at Allied Bank Limited, and he was also MQM’s candidate for local bodies election.

Syed Wajahat Hussain Naqvi is survived by a widow, a 6-year-old son and a 10-year-old son.

KARACHI: Another Shia Muslim Qalb-e-Abbas was also shot martyred near Gulbahar Kazmain Imambargh area of Karachi.

The martyr 17 years old Syed Qalb-e-Abbas Kazmi s/o Syed Manzar Abbas Kazmi was sitting on a shop, the terrorists of ASWJ-TTP attacked on him and left him injured, he was rushed to hospital where he breathed last.

Pro-Taliban groups have launched a violent campaign against Shia Muslims and several Shia religious gatherings have been targeted in different parts of the country over the past few months.

Shia Muslims in Pakistan say the government must take decisive action against the forces involved in the targeted killings, accusing Islamabad of failing to provide security for the Muslim community.

The killing of Shias has caused an international outrage, with rights groups and regional countries expressing concern over the ongoing deadly violence.

Shias make up about a third of Pakistan’s population of over 180 million.
