Kuwait urges urgent Arab League meeting on Gaza war
Kuwait’s permanent representative to the organization Aziz Rahim Al-Daihani said Friday the situation in the Gaza Strip is deteriorating. Kuwait is the current rotating president of the Arab League.
The meeting of Arab League foreign ministers is expected to be held on Monday.
So far, the United Nations has not taken any measures to end Israel’s assault on Gaza. UN Secretary General Ban Ki-moon, however, has called for an end to Israeli aggression, saying the region could not afford “another full-blown war.”
The death toll from the five days of Israeli strikes on the Gaza Strip has risen to at least 122. More than 800 people were injured in the latest round of Israeli attacks on Gaza, which started on July 8. Most of the victims have been women and children.
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said on Friday that the Tel Aviv regime will not stop its attacks on Gaza.
“No international pressure will prevent us” from attacking Gaza, said the Israeli premier.
Anti-Israeli protests have been held in several cities across the globe, as Israel continues the new wave of aggression against Palestinians of the besieged Gaza Strip.
